Better Infrastructure Decisions Through Resident Feedback

Downtown Kansas City Convention Center Room # 2505B

10:00–10:45 a.m. Central Time

Infrastructure is a top concern for many local government leaders, especially now that funds are available through the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to back priority projects.

Polco partnered with NLC on a new survey to better understand infrastructure goals and challenges at the local government level. In this session, participants will learn how the survey data provides NLC with a bird's-eye view of regional infrastructure spending needs, national trends, and more. The session also will focus on how NLC intends to use the data to help communities achieve their infrastructure goals.

In addition, presenters will discuss how resident feedback and community data can help local officials understand what infrastructure priorities are most important in their communities and how to better achieve funding to address them.

Throughout the conference, Polco will show leaders a sample of their city or town's livability scores. The scores come from the Government Performance Action & Learning (GPAL) collaborative research, a cross-industry effort that distilled an abundance of public data into easy-to-read quality-of-life indicators.

The scores let city leaders know where they stand across multiple facets of community livability, such as health and transportation. The simplicity of GPAL is changing local government strategic planning and performance measurement. Come see for yourself!

See how your city stacks up and take home some Polco swag!
