The Colorado City County Management Association (CCCMA) Winter Conference has come to the City of Glenwood Springs for the last three decades. This beautiful mountain city - with its hot springs, high-life dining, history and Hotel Colorado – is a perfect spot for city managers and staff from around the state to reconnect.

The CCCMA 2018 winter conference broke all records. To accommodate a couple hundred people, an overflow room was set up to live-stream keynote speakers. This, of course, added to up even more revelry at Doc’s.

Twitter was alive with buzz about the many informative and engaging sessions. This session by Colorado Women Leading Government supported and inspired women to advance in city management careers.

Speakers like government performance and innovation coach Nick Kittle encouraged attendees to innovate, and to begin using all their senses to succeed. The term “sustainovation” was often heard quoted for the remainder of the conference.

The return of the popular Fast and Furious presentation brought a flurry of tips and actionable advice from six thought-leaders in the field.

This conference also featured interactive workshops. Participants brought their ideas to canvas in this session on evaluating pilots, facilitated by National Research Center, Inc. (NRC) and Alliance for Innovation (AFI).

As always, attendees enjoyed connecting with vendors in the exhibit hall and networking with colleagues and friends.

Each year, CCCMA recognizes city management leaders for their achievements and contributions to the profession.  Congratulations to 2018’s award recipients!
