We know that U.S. Americans want their local governments to prioritize community safety first. What do residents think are the most important priorities for police and public officials?

[National Research Center, Inc. (NRC)](https://www.n-r-c.com/) recently surveyed a representative, nationwide panel of U.S. residents to examine public opinion of local police services. With guidance from the [Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA)](https://www.bja.gov/) [Executive Session on Police Leadership](http://bjaexecutivesessiononpoliceleadership.org/) experts, NRC is developing The National Police Services Survey™ (The NPSS™).  This benchmarking assessment is designed to provide data needed to support a community-centric model of police leadership, and is slated to launch in the summer of 2019. In this presentation, NRC shares highlights from an analysis on this public safety study and [The National Citizen Survey™ (The NCS™)](https://www.n-r-c.com/products-and-services/the-national-citizen-survey/).
