The Participants tab in your Polco surveys helps you understand who is responding, allowing you to better target your outreach efforts and gather a more representative sample of your community.
Viewing Demographics
Once you have at least 10 respondents, you'll gain access to demographic breakdowns including:
- Age & Gender: Based on self-reported data or voter registration records.
- Ethnicity: If provided by respondents.
- Location Map: Available for verified respondents, showing where they live.
These insights are automatically populated if respondents have provided demographic data in previous surveys, even if you didn’t ask in your current one.
Additional Information
- Sample Type: For relevant surveys, you’ll see breakdowns by sample type (probability or non-probability).
- Languages: If you’ve enabled the multi-language feature, you’ll see data on the language preferences of respondents.
How to Use This Data
With this information, you can:
- Boost responses from non-probability samples using outreach tools like social media and emails.
- Target outreach by language, ethnicity, age, or gender.
- Focus outreach efforts in specific areas of your city to improve engagement from underrepresented groups.
By analyzing your participants, you can ensure your surveys reach a diverse and representative portion of your community, leading to more accurate and actionable insights.
