How to Clear Your Browser Cache

When participating in a survey using your web browser, you might encounter pre-filled responses or outdated content. This often happens because your browser's cache stores old data. Clearing your cache ensures you're viewing the most recent information and that your responses are recorded correctly.

Below are step-by-step instructions on how to clear your cache in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Click on the three vertical dots (⋮) in the top-right corner of the browser window.
  3. Hover over More Tools, then click on Clear browsing data.
    • Shortcut: Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows) or Command+Shift+Delete (Mac) to open this menu directly.
  4. In the "Clear browsing data" window, select All time from the Time range dropdown menu to clear everything.
  5. Ensure the boxes next to Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files are checked.
  6. Click Clear data.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner and select Settings (Windows) or Preferences (Mac).
  3. In the left sidebar, click on Privacy & Security.
  4. Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section.
  5. Click on Clear Data.
  6. Uncheck Cookies and Site Data, leaving only Cached Web Content selected.
  7. Click Clear.

Safari (macOS)

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Click on Safari in the top menu bar, then select Preferences (or Settings in newer versions).
  3. Go to the Advanced tab.
  4. Check the box for Show Develop menu in menu bar at the bottom.
  5. Close the Preferences window.
  6. Click on Develop in the top menu bar, then select Empty Caches.

By clearing your cache, you'll help ensure that your survey responses are submitted correctly and that you're viewing the most up-to-date content. If you continue to experience issues after clearing your cache, consider restarting your browser or reaching out for further assistance.
